Giannis Evmorfiadis is taking an unbeaten run abroad. The Greek boxer, who fights out of Golden Corner, meets Georgian opponent Kokashvili on a professional boxing card in Istanbul on Saturday, Nov. 7, according to Fightsports Greece.
The outlet describes Evmorfiadis as unbeaten for several years and frames the bout as one of the most important of his career so far. It also bills Kokashvili as a dangerous opponent. Both descriptions come from that one report, and neither is backed by a record.
The card is at Ülker Arena and carries the names of Ahmet Öner and Birol Topuz. Fightsports Greece says it offers Evmorfiadis a chance to stand out on a demanding international bill, though it does not name other fighters on the card.
Much is still unclear. Kokashvili's first name, both fighters' records, the weight class, the scheduled number of rounds and whether any title is at stake have not been published. The fight is the next one on Evmorfiadis's schedule.
What to watch for next: an official bout sheet from the organizers, which should fill in the weight class, the rounds and the opponent's full name and record.
