Ariel Helwani reported the UFC is looking elsewhere for Makhachev vs. Prates because the Jan. 30 UFC 336 date no longer works for Makhachev.
Knockout Daily
Alex Pereira's heavyweight future is on the line. After losing his heavyweight debut to Ciryl Gane by TKO in June, he told The Ariel Helwani Show he will not stay at heavyweight if he loses to Pavlovich, saying he is lighter than the other heavyweights. Recorte da Luta reports he plans to enter the fight lighter than he did against Gane. A win would keep alive his bid for titles in three divisions.
The card is still filling. Shanelle Dyer has won both her UFC fights by TKO, while Angela Hill is coming off a decision win over Jingnan Xiong and is tied for the most UFC appearances by a woman.
Machado Garry vs. Amosov would be Garry's first fight since his title loss to Islam Makhachev. Reports gave no card position. The welterweight title picture around Makhachev and Carlos Prates remains unsettled: the planned UFC 336 date reportedly no longer works for Makhachev, and the fight was never officially announced.
