MVP set a 10-fight MVPW07 card for Nov. 8 in Arlington, Texas, on ESPN, with Turhan vs. Baumgardner in the main event and five world title fights.
What we know
- MVPW07 takes place Sunday, Nov. 8, at College Park Center in Arlington, Texas, live on ESPN.
- Skye Nicolson defends her title against Miyo Yoshida; Irma Garcia vs. Nataly Delgado and Brittany Sims vs. Shera Mae Patricio are also marked as title fights.
- The announcement did not list the sanctioning bodies or weight classes for the belts.
- The non-title bouts are Moldazhanova vs. Bavington, Fernando Garcia vs. Castellano, Dove vs. Rodriguez, Guerrero vs. Anderson and Camarillo vs. Serra.
Most Valuable Promotions has put five world title fights on one ESPN broadcast, and built the night around a main event whose stakes are not yet spelled out. Elif Nur Turhan vs. Alycia Baumgardner tops MVPW07, and the promotion has not said whether that bout is one of the five title fights.
Baumgardner is the face of the sell. MVP posted a teaser clip earlier on the day of the announcement with the caption "All the smoke... Alycia Baumgardner wants it." She is a 32-year-old American who has fought at super featherweight in boxing, and she gets top billing over Turhan.
Below the headliner, Ramla Ali meets Mikiah Kreps in the co-main. Skye Nicolson defends her title against Miyo Yoshida, for whom the ESPN setting raises the value of a win considerably. Irma Garcia vs. Nataly Delgado and Brittany Sims vs. Shera Mae Patricio also carry title icons in the announcement.
The lineup is filled out by five non-title fights: Albina Moldazhanova vs. Kirstie Bavington, Fernando Garcia vs. Alexander Castellano, Nat Dove vs. Nayeli Rodriguez, Javier Guerrero vs. Aiden Anderson and Jocelyn Camarillo vs. Nazarena Serra.
The open questions are which sanctioning bodies and weight classes attach to each belt. Those details are likely to come into focus as fight week approaches. Tickets are on sale now.
