Lowking
KSW 124 on Dec. 19 at PreZero Arena in Gliwice now has a deep supporting card around its main event, where middleweight champion Paweł Pawlak defends against interim champion Piotr Kuberski. Three ranked fights have been added, and two of them put contenders in awkward spots.
The most notable is Rafał Haratyk's move down. The former light heavyweight champion lost the belt to Bartosz Leśko in July, by unanimous decision at KSW 120, and now drops to middleweight to face fourth-ranked Andi Vrtačić. Every one of Haratyk's KSW fights has come at light heavyweight, but he competed at middleweight before joining the promotion. He is 39. Vrtačić, a Croatian with a kickboxing background, is on a three-fight winning streak with all of it by stoppage, including a first-round finish of Albert Odzimkowski in April. His only KSW loss came to Michał Michalski in August 2025. Per Fight Site Croatia, he had asked for a top-three opponent and instead got a former champion from the division above.
At lightweight, Adam Soldaev (11-3) meets Hugo Deux (7-1). Soldaev, a former featherweight title challenger, moved up in weight, partly because of trouble making the limit. He knocked out Mateusz Makarowski in round one on Oct. 10 and took a knockout bonus. Deux, a Warsaw-based Frenchman with a judo background, stopped Welisson Paiva with elbows in round two in April and has won four straight.
Some Polish outlets framed the bout as a possible title eliminator. KSW's announcement attached no such label and no guaranteed title shot. The vacant lightweight belt goes to the winner of Valeriu Mircea vs. Marcin Held at KSW 123 on Nov. 21, and both men are ranked above Soldaev.
In the welterweight bout, unbeaten Dawid Kuczmarski (9-0) takes on grappler Adam Niedźwiedź (11-4-1, 1 NC). Kuczmarski last beat Daniel Skibiński in February. Niedźwiedź has won nine of his 11 victories by submission and beat Mateusz Pawlik in July.
Watch for the rest of the card to fill in: Souheil Kaouchen still has no opponent, and Štefan Vojčák vs. Artur Szpilka for the interim heavyweight title is also set for the night.
