INJURY KSW 123: Kazieczko vs Danylko set; Hir replaces Krt against Szczepaniak

A KSW veteran on a cold streak meets a finisher who has never fought in the promotion. Maciej Kazieczko faces Bohdan Danylko at KSW 123 in Szczecin, a matchup that tests whether experience still counts against a fighter arriving in form.

Kazieczko is 33 and has fought for KSW since 2016, with thirteen fights in the cage. He challenged Marian Ziółkowski for the lightweight title in April 2021 and lost by second-round submission. His last win was a third-round knockout of Francisco Barrio in November 2022. Since then he has lost to Leo Brichta by split decision, to Welisson Paiva by third-round punches, and to Adam Masaev by first-round rear-naked choke last November. The name still carries weight: two knockout-of-the-night bonuses, two fight-of-the-night bonuses, and a finish of Michael Dubois regarded as one of the most spectacular in KSW history.

Danylko, 26, turned professional in 2023 and has fought for Strife, FEN and Babilon MMA. Six of his eight wins came by finish, five of them first-round knockouts. He submitted Patryk Likus, a former KSW fighter, in September. KSW signed him as a featherweight/lightweight, and his official fighter page lists him at lightweight.

The card changed on Oct. 28. Steven Krt withdrew with a knee injury, and Michał Hir steps in against Oskar Szczepaniak in a 79 kg catchweight bout over three rounds. Hir is 26 and all five of his wins came by knockout, but his only KSW appearance, against Mateusz Wieczorek at KSW 118 in May, ended in a unanimous-decision loss. Szczepaniak has been out since a second-round submission loss to Daniel Skibiński at KSW 109 in August 2025, and before that he was stopped in the first round by Tymoteusz Łopaczyk.

Both fights sit under two title bouts. The lightweight division has been in flux since former champion Salahdine Parnasse moved to UFC, which is why Mircea and Held are fighting for the vacant belt.

Watch how Danylko handles the step up to a KSW cage, and whether Kazieczko can end his losing run with the kind of knockout that earned his bonuses. Seven bouts are named so far, and more changes before fight night are possible.
