What we know
- Xavier Gonzalez knocked out Exza Wankhongohm at 1:18 of round one in the flyweight Muay Thai co-main event.
Akram La Pepite Hamidi won the main event of The Inner Circle 36 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, stopping former ONE World Title challenger Numsurin Chor Ketwina in the first round of an atomweight Muay Thai bout, ONE said.
In his first fight at atomweight after dropping from strawweight, Hamidi used teeps and leg-kick checks to keep distance, then landed a right hook into a body combination. A spinning backfist followed by a body shot put Numsurin down, and Hamidi finished with two left hooks to the liver at 1:57.
ONE lists the 27-year-old's striking record at 56-6 and says the win makes him a name to watch in the chase for atomweight Muay Thai champion Nadaka Yoshinari's belt. No title fight has been announced.
