G MMA 1: Muradov faces six Kotlars, Jira fights Kaluba, Mraović to issue callout

G MMA 1: Samhain is built on spectacle, and the week before the debut has delivered plenty. The main event pits Makhmud Muradov against six members of the Kotlar family, a format G MMA sells as a numbers advantage for the Kotlars, who are meant to come in one after another. Pillow fights and armour bouts fill out a card the organization says is sold out.

Muradov, 36, is the OKTAGON light heavyweight champion and a former UFC fighter, and he is booked to fight Krzysztof Jotko at OKTAGON 100 on Dec. 29. Online edits set to sad music suggested he regretted signing. He answered on Instagram: "I regret nothing, nobody is forcing me." He called the fight a job done for his family and said he would take it seriously in training. He has said he would refuse a simultaneous attack by several opponents, and agreed only to a rotation.

OKTAGON boss Ondrej Novotny is less relaxed. According to Fights.cz, he called Muradov's participation a dishonour to his career and a huge stain, but made an exception because Muradov signed with G MMA before extending with OKTAGON.

The co-founder angle is the card's other talking point. Promoter Jakub Jira, who is listed in a public company register as a minority partner in the firm running the show according to MMAmag.cz, will fight Matouš Kaluba. Kaluba was to meet his adoptive mother Marcela Kalubova; that bout is off, and no reason was given. Kaluba previously fought in CLASH, where he stopped Dominik Rozporka in 25 seconds at CLASH 13.

Outside the cage, eXtra.cz reports that an exchange between Zdenek Podrany and Patrik Kotlar at the Oct. 26 press conference turned into a mass brawl outside the Palladium. Muradov reportedly stayed out of it. Prague police had reported nothing as of Oct. 27 and G MMA has issued no statement.

Aleksandar Mraović, the Sparta Royale heavyweight champion, will be in attendance. FightBuzz reports a challenge for G MMA 2 is planned during the night. No opponent has been named. The show starts Sat, Oct 31, 1 p.m. ET (17:00 UTC).
