RESULTS G MMA 1: Muradov beats six Kotlars; Marek, Dufka, Spicy Pája win

The result everyone predicted arrived quickly. Makhmud Muradov, a two-division OKTAGON champion, went through the Kotlar family at G MMA 1: Samhain in Prague on Oct. 31, and the questions that remain are about the format and the fallout rather than the outcome.

According to Fights.cz, the first Kotlar went down to a leg kick and the fight was stopped. Diego Kotlar took a calf kick and tapped, then barely limped out of the cage. Muradov showed a takedown on another opponent. One of the later Kotlars showed some will to fight and threw a few strikes from the bottom, but did not threaten him and gave up after a punch. Patrik, the last in, lasted longest and still did nothing. Afterward Muradov said, "I'm here for work, I don't care who they put against me" (translated), and admitted he had sweated.

The rules were unclear to the end. Outlets disagreed on whether all six would fight at once or rotate in and out, and Muradov said before the event that he refused bigger gloves unless the Kotlars wore them too. Official G MMA material did not confirm the glove size, and its own page said the number of participants, round lengths and full rules were still to be clarified.

The night had a second storyline outside the cage. Will Fleury, whom Muradov beat for the light heavyweight title at Oktagon 92 in August with a round-two TKO, wrote on Instagram that G MMA offered him front-row seats and a face-off, and that Muradov refused and tried to get him banned from attending. Fleury's post is an allegation; no organizer decision or response from Muradov has surfaced.

Muradov, 36, now turns back to real business: a title fight with Krzysztof Jotko at OKTAGON 100 on Dec. 29. The rest of the card produced Roman Marek's quick stoppage of Karel Horváth, who was floored by a body shot and a rear-hand follow-up, and Viktor Dufka's points win over Michal Knap, who threw his sword at the end of round three. Spicy Pája evened his MMA record after his OKTAGON debut loss to Ondřej Raška. Whether G MMA runs a second show is the next thing to watch.
