Babilon MMA 61: Wlodarczyk beats Sianos; Kacprzak stoppage disputed

The Kacprzak stoppage was the night's main talking point. He survived a first round spent mostly under Ramos, hurt him with a flying knee in round two, took him down and locked a leg choke from his back. According to MMA.pl, the referee saw the finishing hold locked in and stopped the fight, while Ramos felt he had not tapped. MMA.pl expects the circumstances to be discussed for some time, and manager Artur Gwozdz called the stoppage a mistake.

The win matters beyond the result. Kacprzak told InTheCage that KSW matchmaker Wojslaw Rysiewski set two conditions for a return: make weight and win outside KSW. He made weight at the official weigh-in and now has the win. He hopes to be back in KSW after the new year, though the final decision belongs to the organization.

On the same card, Gola's stoppage of D'Onofrio also drew complaints. According to MMA.pl, D'Onofrio's mouthpiece came out and he felt the referee should have stopped the fight sooner.

In the main event, the boxer Wlodarczyk was the more mobile man against the much heavier MMA fighter Sianos, who weighed 127.6 kg to his 100.3 kg. The fight opened up in round two, with Sianos' swinging shots landing heavily and Wlodarczyk answering with combinations, and Wlodarczyk started round three aggressively. The two fell over late in the fight. Afterwards Wlodarczyk said he was ready for a blood test on Monday and would film himself giving samples, and called on MMA fighters to stop using banned substances.
