A possible KSW matchup between Andrzej Grzebyk and former KSW champion Mamed Khalidov has drawn interest from fans, but Grzebyk's manager, Artur Gwozdz, told InTheCage he is not in favor of it.
Gwozdz said the two fighters like each other and that he personally holds Khalidov in high regard, calling him the icon who made him fall in love with MMA. He added that he had a different idea for Khalidov's next opponent and thinks KSW did as well.
He also pointed to the stage of their careers: Grzebyk is still pursuing his ambitions, while Khalidov is approaching the end of his. "Giving him fighters who are much younger and in their prime, I don't know if it's worth it," Gwozdz said (translated). He added that he does not expect Khalidov would turn down a fight because of an opponent's name, and said he intends to take all the belts from rival manager Artur Ostaszewski's fighters.
